Terms of Use
Effective: October 22, 2026 · This is a translation of the Korean version. If the two differ, the Korean version applies.
1. Purpose
These terms set out the conditions of use of the desktop application PickyShot and the website pickyshot.com (the "Service") provided by LJ Labs LLC (the "Company"), and the rights and obligations of the Company and the user.
2. Definitions
- User: anyone who downloads and uses the Service or pays for a pass under these terms.
- Free tier: what can be used without paying. The first 100 photos in each folder can be analyzed.
- Paid features: features that require a pass, such as analysis beyond the free tier.
- Pass: a single payment that unlocks paid features for a fixed period from the time of payment (7 days for the 1-week pass, 30 days for the 1-month pass, 365 days for the 1-year pass). It does not renew.
- License key: a string issued by email after payment that unlocks paid features when registered in the app.
3. Acceptance and changes
- By downloading the Service or paying for a pass, you agree to these terms.
- When these terms change, the new text and its effective date are posted on this page at least 7 days in advance. Changes unfavorable to users are posted 30 days in advance, and users with an active pass are notified by email.
- If you do not agree to a change, you may stop using the Service. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the change.
4. The Service
- The Service analyzes photos on your computer to group similar photos, flag closed eyes and blur, and export the photos you pick.
- The Service requires no account. All analysis happens on your computer.
- The Company may add, change or discontinue features. If paid features are materially reduced or the Service is shut down, we give 30 days' notice.
5. License and devices
- The Company grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal or business purposes. All rights in the software and trademarks remain with the Company.
- One pass can be registered on up to 3 devices at the same time. You can release a device from within the app, up to 3 times per 30 days.
- The registration of a device that has not checked in for 60 days or more may be released automatically.
6. Prohibited conduct
You must not:
- share, sell or transfer a license key to anyone else;
- decompile or modify the software, or circumvent the license check or the free-tier limit;
- copy and redistribute or resell the software;
- access the Service's servers by abnormal means or place undue load on them.
7. Free use
The free tier has no time limit. The Company may change the free tier; the terms of a pass already paid for do not change during its period.
8. Payment
- Payments are processed by Stripe as Merchant of Record (the seller), through Stripe Managed Payments. Payment, tax calculation, receipts and the execution of refunds are governed by Stripe's Consumer Terms.
- Paid features are provided from the moment payment is completed.
- A pass is paid once and provides paid features for its period (7 days for the 1-week pass, 30 days for the 1-month pass, 365 days for the 1-year pass) from the time of payment. It ends automatically and is never charged again. There is no automatic renewal.
- The Company may change prices. Changes apply to new purchases.
9. End of a pass
- A pass does not renew, so there is nothing to cancel. It simply ends when its period is over.
- When a pass ends, the app returns to the free tier. Analysis results and your own decisions (star ratings, color labels, rejects) are kept, and you can still export.
10. Refunds
- Once you use any paid features after payment, full refunds are not available. The Service is digital content, and you agree to this before you pay.
- If you have not used any paid features, you may request a refund within 14 days of the payment date at support@pickyshot.com.
- Passes cannot be terminated early for a partial refund.

11. Your photos and data
- Your photos and all rights in them belong to you.
- The Service does not send photos to the Company's servers, and the Company does not view, store or use your photos for AI training. Photos and analysis results are stored only on your computer.
- The personal information the Company processes is described in the Privacy Policy.
- You are responsible for keeping backups of important files.
12. Analysis results and disclaimer of warranties
- The Service is provided "as is". The Company does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
- The Company does not warrant the accuracy of analysis results (groups, representative photos, closed-eye and blur flags, etc.) or their fitness for a particular purpose. Results are for reference, and the final selection is your responsibility.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Company's total liability does not exceed the amount you actually paid in the 12 months before the issue arose. The Company is not liable for indirect or incidental damages such as loss of data or loss of business.
14. Suspension
If you materially breach these terms, including section 6, the Company may suspend your license after prior notice. In that case amounts already paid are not refunded.
15. Notices
The Company notifies users at the email address entered at payment or by posting on this website.
16. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, and disputes are subject to the courts of that state.
If you are a consumer, however, this section does not limit the rights guaranteed by the consumer protection law of your country of residence. Consumers residing in the Republic of Korea may rely on the consumer protection provisions of Korean law and may bring suit in the court of their place of residence.
